It can be easy with technology to get lost in feeds and speeds, or to ask oneself just what the latest addition of megahertz to a processor mean in the real world. Put simply – quad-core is great, but really – who cares if their processor has one core, or two, or four?

There are lots of different types of electronic screens on the market today, and it is really hard to figure out what they are all about. Here is a small explanation of them.
CRT
Cathode Ray Tube technology has been used since the very first TVs. It basically uses three tubes beside each other (red, blue, green), to create an image that is ‘fired’ onto a glass screen. The cathode or ‘gun’ fires an invisible electron beam at coloured phosphors that are on the glass screen. These phosphors glow in their respective colour (red, blue, green) to produce the picture. These displays are inexpensive, very reliable, and have the best colour reproduction. The problem is that they are big and heavy, and consume a large amount of electricity.
I Cannot Open An Attachment

Have you ever received an attachment or file that you cannot open? The problem is likely that you do not have the right program to open the file. What you need to do is find out what program you need, and install it. The other option is to have someone convert the file into something you can use. Here are a few examples:
.XLS – Excel Files. You can use the free viewer from Microsoft.
.PPT – Powerpoint Files. You can use the free viewer from Microsoft.
.PDF – Acrobat Files. You need the free Acrobat Reader.
.RM – Real Media. You need Real Player to watch these movies.
.ZIP – Compressed Files. You need Winzip to open them.
.MOV – Quicktime Movie. You need Quicktime to watch them.
You can also use Google to search for the file extension, and see what program opens it.

A language instructor was explaining to her class that French nouns, unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine. Things like ‘chalk’ or ‘pencil,’ she described, would have a gender association although in English these words were neutral.
Puzzled, one student raised his hand and asked, “What gender is a computer?” The teacher wasn’t certain which it was, and so divided the class into two groups and asked them to decide if a computer should be masculine or feminine. One group was comprised of the women in the class, and the other, of men. Both groups were asked to give four reasons for their recommendations.

Last night my computer started making a lot of hissing noise at me so I shut it down. This morning when I turned it on, the computer started hissing and cracking, then started smoking and a bad smell, then nothing.
SUPPORT:
I will have a technician come over first thing this morning. Just leave the computer just like it is so they can find the problem and fix it or change it out with another computer. Give me your address and telephone number and the technician will be there just as soon as possible.
When the technician got there, the lady showed the technician where the computer was and told what happened to it. This is what the technician found wrong.

Restart Your PC – It’s amazing how many times you can make your problems disappear simply by restarting your PC.
